Day Four: Monday

Day Four: Mogo Zoo, More Kangaroos and Internet

Today we went to the Mogo Zoo and had a great time! I took waaay too many pictures of the ridiculously cute tiny monkeys they had there. The zoo was a pretty good size, and had a good variety of animals (for being privately run and in the middle of nowhere). We were secretly disappointed that they didn’t have any koalas or kangaroos, but of course they had deer ;). The zookeepers give talks and feed some of the different animals while they talk. It was cool to be able to see them interact and to ask questions. It was a great experience all around.

We are getting very used to the roads and their driving. Blake is pretty adaptable, so it’s no surprise. We definitely are not picking up an Australian accent, much to our chagrin. I wish that being an SLP made it easier to acquire accents.. but sadly, it doesn’t. Probably because I over analyze what they are doing with their tongues and forget to just listen to how it sounds.

We went into Moruya to get some more groceries and saw a couple of kangaroos on the way. I got a picture of one in the daylight, so I can now leave Australia happy. We’ve seen quite a few, usually early in the morning and in the late evening, when they are grazing, but this was the first time I had my camera ready and no one was behind us, so we could stop in the middle of the road and take a picture. I know, SUCH tourists. Also, I didn't get the picture on my computer before I came to use the internet. I'll post it next time.

We are almost finished with our Monday, and you guys are just starting yours.
Happy Monday from the future!

Lots of monkeys!

And tigers!

The White Lions, pretty neat!

We were pretty close to the giraffe at one point,
they are soo cool close up!

My absolute favorite!
The super tiny Pygmy Marmoset!
Here is a mum and baby.
Smaller than my hand, both of them!

I guess we'll have to come back and
retake this when we have cubs ;)

He's an animal ;)
