First Zoo Trip!

I've been wanting to go to the zoo for years! I thought it would be a fun date for Blake and I, with or without Emerson since until just recently she wouldn't have gotten much out of it. She still is a bit young for it but we think she enjoyed it anyway.

It was the perfect end to a rainy memorial day weekend with a beautiful sunny day for the zoo. My parents and my (more like a sister than) cousin Macey joined us as we meandered through the crowds.

Emerson's favorite parts: all the kids!!!, the people, the monkeys, the flamingos and the giraffes. Oh, and the walls, they were all different textures and she loved to feel them in between exhibits. She waved and said 'Hi!' to as many people as she could. She was pooped from trying to take it all in and slept like a rock on the trip back home.

I thought this was great! Blake snapped a picture of me taking a selfie at the giraffes. 

My favorite. When I was a little girl I had the coolest pair of purple sunglasses and I leaned over to look at the
giraffe eating and they fell off my head onto the net just below the railing. Sad, sad day in my childhood.
Fortunately no sunglasses were lost this trip. Emerson just enjoyed watching the giraffes. 

The flamingos made a funny noise! She thought they were interesting. 

Enjoying some 'top of pop' I spent my fair share of time on those shoulders too. 

I liked these water shots with their reflections. She thought the fish were pretty interesting too.
