Pumpkin Patch

So we went to the pumpkin patch... back at the beginning of October ;).

Harrison had just made his unexpected arrival and we were staying with my parents for a week before coming back home, so we took the opportunity to visit the same pumpkin patch we went to last year.

We really like this little pumpkin patch in Vancouver called Joe's Place Farm. It's short and sweet. There is a hay ride and a corn trail (not sure it's a maze) and photo ops, but we just like that it has pumpkins, apples and wagons etc. And mostly that they pick the pumpkins and sort them for you by size and type. No wandering through the muddy fields with babies and toddlers without boots. It's kind of like the pumpkin patch made easy and that's where we are at right now (and where we were last year) ;).

We missed having Auntie Macey with us this year but loved that we could bring Ellie with us! Everyone enjoyed it.. well, Harrison might have slept through it but we can say he enjoyed it.

Pumpkins!!

Ellie found her pumpkin

My pumpkin in the pumpkins.

We're still working on the smiling/not blinking/looking-at-the-camera-at-the-same-time thing

Cousins!!

Cousins!!

Lots of kisses

This one!

Running on the corn trail

Big camera selfie

The wagon with pumpkins was probably the highlight
For some reason the rest of these are out of order, but I don't have the energy to fix it.

She really likes kissing his fingers.

Sneaky!

She's pretty sure she can pick it up ;)

Turning Two

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Emerson... happy birthday to you!

I love how tickled she gets when the attention is on her. It was fun to see her understand the whole birthday thing a little better this year. Second birthdays are tricky because you want your kiddo to feel special but also know that they won't really remember any of it. It's so easy to get carried away with kid's birthday parties, you know, with pinterest and all. I was pretty proud of myself that I didn't get on pinterest until the day of the party to decide how to put raspberries on her cake. I just wanted enough of a party so that she would feel special and loved, but not so much that I stressed myself out. I think we accomplished that.

Trying to get down 'two'

Baby Ellie just after waking up. She's so contemplative.

and she's a charmer

Her own camera from Grandma M!

Trying to wait patiently for grandpa to put some batteries in the camera.

She also got a red trike! So of course we had to open gifts on the trike for awhile.

And Ellie had to try it out too

AND pretty dress up shoes from Grandma and Grandpa W!

Playing with cousins

A picture with her grandmas for a new "Me and grandma" picture frame

And of course we had to feed the chickens a couple of flowers
while we were outside.

We were so glad that everyone came and helped us celebrate our sweet girl. She's been singing 'happy birthday' to herself since and really just loving each one of her gifts.

Elowah Falls

We always say we should stop and do more hiking through the Gorge on our way home but then we never make time for it. It's so hard to leave grandparents and we dread the drive so we stall and stay as late as we can. Well finally we did, thanks to making plans with my cousin Macey and thanks to her flexibility for us being late ;).

It was a nice little hike, Emerson even did a little hiking and the views were gorgeous.

We hiked on to another waterfall, but I'm not sure what it was called...
